I’m not usually a fan of covers but this one hits the spot. Mad Conspiracy’s version of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ 1967 hit doesn’t try to do too much and justice is served to the original whilst updating the score 40 years later.

Lets face it the Four Seasons’ version missed the mark; Frankie Valli’s voice was just slightly too high up the scale this time. Here is that rare thing: a cover which is better than the previous version it emulates and the Norwegian hiphop duo that are Tshawe Baqwa and Yosef Wolde-Mariam deserve praise for that.

The video is also a visual treat in parts with a seventies themed movie sub-plot running in the background which shows a great deal more imagination than the pair chillin’ in da crib wit’ da honeyz. So a 60’s song updated for 2008 with 70’s visuals. I like it.
